Bosch has been a trusted name in appliances for a long time, and it makes both gas and electric water heaters. The brand has received the highest praise for its electric water heaters, with several models earning top marks.
Owners of the 2.5-gallon GL model love its low cost and targeted efficiency. The slightly larger GL 4 draws similar praise, as does the GL 7, which gives even more water to more places. These three models range between $150 and $200, on average.
These models draw raves because they are easy to install and extremely proficient at providing hot water instantly. They are small enough that they are termed “point of use” which means that you will place them precisely where you want hot water quickly, such as under a kitchen sink or near a targeted shower.
Bosch is also big in tankless water heaters, with models ranging from small point of use heaters to whole house water heaters.
Larger models, such as the PowerStar AE 125, can provide hot water to two sinks at a time or two low-flow showers.
Warranties on the heaters usually range from 6-10 years. They can be difficult to install in older homes, but are not too much trouble to place into new homes.
